Dr. Danying Yang is an Assistant Professor in Fashion and Fashion Technology at Heriot-Watt University, UK. She holds a PhD in Textiles/Design, with expertise in fashion, smart textiles, wearable technology, co-design and user-centred design. Her interdisciplinary research explores how emerging materials and technologies can support health, wellbeing and independent living, with a particular focus on ageing populations. She leads the RSE-funded WEARCare project, investigating human-centred smart garments for health and wellbeing in older adults. Her research has been presented internationally and published in journals including Fashion Practice and the International Journal of Fashion Design, Technology and Education.
